Hi guys Take a look at these two 1977 nickels...The first is an uncirculated nickel and the second picture is from a proof set...Are these both HIGH or LOW sevens...?

Both High 7. I always find it easier to recognize the High and Low 7 if I turn the coin so the date is in the 9 o'clock position. I guess I see things better on the vertical then the horizontal.

What I see is the first (unc.) is Low and the second is High. The top of the 7 on the Proof is closer to the D is it not. Also looking at the bottom of the 7s the last 7 looks higher. kobykelso

Wert, don't be confused. The coins you've posted are both high seven type.

This other thread on high/low 7 shows a clear picture of the two varieties. Both of the above nickels are High 7 because the second 7 is closer to the word CANADA than the first 7. https://goccf.com/t/116091&SearchTerms=1977

It is a bit like apples and oranges, comparing coins struck from proof-like dies to production coins struck from business strike dies, why not see what the 1977 specimen strike looks like as well? I bet if you look close enough, all three will be different to some degree, but that does not mean they constitute different varieties. Other factors, like Die Deterioration, would also affect the 1977 business strikes, but probably was not a factor in proof-like and specimen production.

Top is deffinitely High 7 The angle of the bottom coin makes it hard to tell. The first pic is straight down, the second pic looks like it is at an angle. Probably just my old eyes HH Dave
