I'm not sure about the eye, but it looks like you have trails coming off of the date. You may want to check traildies.com to try to match it up.

Sure looks like trails to me, I am thinking no on the clash, I would think it would be visible behind his neck as well if it was a clash. Have any pics of that area? Also, I would say it looks like a stain or chip on the eye.
