Hello - I was going through a box of older large cents when I came across one that is missing the last numeral of the date. There is something there but it looks more like a J then a number. It appears to be a strike error but I wanted to see if anyone had seen anything similar.

Regards,
Dale

I would lean way more in favor of post mint damage then strike error. Looks like it is an 1851.

It is just post-mint damage, the coin has sustained multiple hits and scrapes.
