Post mint Damage.....Anyway, I have never seen a struck through cloth on both sides of a coin. Hard to even imagine how that could happen, especially on the reverse.

Hey Dave Your way too modest. You left out a couple of things in your Bio. Remember that 2 yr. stint with the Boston Bruins ? Not just once, but twice you scored 3 hat tricks in one game. Along with both of your Congressional Medals of Honor during those two tours of duty earlier. Come on now, don't be so shy.

I had a coin like this and was told it was from someone taking a torch to it.

If it was done from a torch you think the cent would have changed colors? Maybe its just from someone tossing it in acid like you said ill just keep it for a reference its cool looking thanks again

I was thinking the same thing. That's why you can't believe everything you see or read on the Internet. I put mine in a 2x2 holder. These look really cool in person much better then in pics.

I think that it could have been sand blasted.

It's not sand blasted.Heat treated somehow is my best guess.

I have a few of these. It was determined to be acid damage.
