Hi people, My name is Damien and I am new to this forum. I have a few coins that I cant seem to get valued when I have taken them to coin dealers. Was wondering if anyone knows anything about them or their value.

by chance I bought this book last week on ebay, but missed out on coin album it's self.
I'll let you know when comes and take some photo's.

they are comemorative medallions, rather than coins, in the sense of money.

A little more info on these coins. These descriptions are in order of events just like the photo's are. This info was found on line at museum victoria.

Description: Discovery
A gold plated medal struck for sale to collectors as a commemoration of the Australian Bicentenary in 1988. The medal features a portrait of James Cook holding a sextant with the ship Endeavour in the background , and the bicentenary logo.
Dimensions: 32 mm (Diameter)
Weight: 14.24 g (Weight)

Description: Settlement 
A gold plated medal struck for sale to collectors as a commemoration of the Australian Bicentenary in 1988. The medal features the flag-raising scane at Sydney Cove in 1788 and the bicentenary logo.

Description: Gold Rush

check the weights, as I found out they often do these in other metals as well and the same museum ^^ only had info about the gold versions not the bronze/copper ones, wasnt until I weighed them I found out the difference.

Coin value is about $2 - $5 each in good condition
Dealer value with case is about $12 this is totally top end price

Nothing bicentennial 1988 is rare in any collectable theme

Hey Damien,
Got the catologe sent to me today,
to many pages to scan all, if you can send photo of coins and weights can see , you never know.
I once got a scottsdale 1/10 of silver n change as a 5c coin, wish it happenened more often..

they were recalled I think .so would they be rare or just hard to find as they are hoarded away ..
