Crop and rotate this coin so we can see what you have there.
Repost the close up.

I would say net VG with the reverse dragging it down. There is pretty good definition in the hair by the bonnet so without better pictures, I am speculating that America is light from a weak strike.

I also thought it could be struck through... if it was rim damage would the denticles be still present? Better pic would probably tell a lot more.

I'm just a novice with no experience though so dont take my word for it.

Grease filled die? Is that common with these coins?

Maybe the America is a Grease Filled Die but I think the die may have been falling apart on the edge because the denticals are well defined. Not sure if the cheek is PMD or a die problem. This series is notorious for problems with the dies. My avatar shows what a lamination error looks like so I don't think the edge is that.

I'm newer to this, but looking at the coin in hand the cheek looks like corrosion after the fact. The top right almost looks like a punch mark and the F is almost cut off.

You are probably correct about the PMD on the cheek. I will see if I can poke some others wiser than me to help with the upper right.

It looks like post mint damage to me. Check the reverse photo and you can see where the metal protrudes out from possible hits on the obverse. Hard to tell for sure from the fuzzy photos.
