Thanking you all in advance for your assistance. Error Varieties are something I'm still trying to learn more about.

I came across this 1964 Nickel in pocket change today:

I see doubling in the date:
1964-Nickel---DD-Or-Die-Deterioriation?

1964-Nickel---DD-Or-Die-Deterioriation?

1964-Nickel---DD-Or-Die-Deterioriation?

I've read that there Die Deterioration Doubling is fairly common for coins of this period. I still find myself having problems telling the difference.

Any input?

Thanks again for allowing me to pick your brains!

Die Deterioration "doubling" for sure.

Such is extremely common on that date in particular since they minted so many of them.

Thanks Kefiroth. I had a feeling that based on the date, that would be the case.
Now I just need to figure out how to tell the difference between Die Deterioration Doubling versus hub doubling :)

It might be a good idea to first look at
many different coins that are already known for their
die/hub doubling. This will help you to get an image of what
that looks like exactly compared to all the other forms of doubling.
Which include Machine Doubling etc. There are many types of these by the way. Do some searches on here in the archives for tons of info
on the subject.
