Landed a 1990P Eisenhower Centennial of the bay today. The pictures were a bit blurry and it is not slabbed but at $17.30 after shipping how can you go wrong. Heres to hoping that it is better looking than scrap silver.

Just received the coin in today's mail:

Guess we know why they took blurry picks. At less than melt I can live with it. Would this be a candidate for a quick acetone dip?

I doubt acetone will help. I like it, for what it is, and would leave it alone. No sense in accidentally making it worse.

Let it be as is ... still a nice price for a 90% silver commemorative.

I agree with jbuck, I don't think acetone will do much for this one.

On the other hand, if you'd like to "experiment" with this coin since you don't have alot of money in it, you could try to dip it in Jeweluster (R) to remove the surface toning. It might dramatically improve the coin's appearance, but it might not -- hence my use of the word "experiment." If you do dip it, make sure to rinse it well and dry it with a soft paper towel or cloth.

Looks to me like someone started to carry it as a pocketpiece.
