Numisma, yes it is unusual, could you provide details? Some are more unusual or rarer than others. I couldn't see the date, but I've looked through the different issues and it was definitely last year's sesquicentennial design. Now that I realize how uncommon these are, I wish I had asked to exchange it. Oh well, now I know what to look for. Edited by Numisma

I'm surprised the bank had any nickel 50 cent or dollar coins. From my experience, my bank (CIBC) will not take these coins in. I ended up with a whole bunch as part of a hoard I acquired. Dealers won't buy this stuff even at face value. The best offer I've had was one dealer who said they would give me face for the nickel if I sold them my silver at the same time. I've spent some, but it would be a lot easier taking it all to the bank.

It had been a long time but yesterday received a 2017 150 toonie in my change. Still looking for a couple more.

Good day yesterday. A Vimy toonie, a Cindy Klassen not red quarter, an Olympic snowboard quarter, and a 2001 quarter, flipped it over and it had the P. Still haven't got a no p in the wild yet. All these from 1 purchase. Then scored a Grey Cup loonie later.

Nice! Dorado, could really fill up some holes, that 2009 loonie.
Got a bunch of mint 2016 nickels at McDonald's, and also got a very good condition 1992 Quebec quarter, luster still on.

. Previously she offered to look for colourized 2017 coins for me. But this time, she surprised me and mentioned that they had some 50 cent coins. She came back with $48.75 in two bags and I bought it all. There wasn't any silver but I am still very grateful for the finds. Also included were some 1967 (and older) nickels, a 1973 quarter, and 9 nickel dollars. This might open the door to more finds because she asked if I also collect older bills (which I do).
