Hi guys Take a look at this (in not to good a shape) penny I got in my change...Does this look like doubling and also the denticals look doubled.

It definitely looks like doubling to me. My question is whether it is double dyed or Machine Doubling.

Do the doubled areas seem to be raised? Do you see any split serifs?

Now that you mention it kenscott, they do look raised. Even the denticals appear doubled, at least to me.

Most likely a true doubled die then and less likely Machine Doubling. Raised imaging and split serifs are signs of true doubled die coin from what I have read.

I assume it is there but it is hard to be sure from the picture. The close up seems doubled to me. I just posted it because it purports to be similar.

Wow folcan99...That coin has better doubling than mine...Nice find. I know this coin isn't a penny but had to show you this doubling.
