I got it in the mail on wednesday a little over issue price but it has a low number COA and that is why I picked it up for my collection. No word from the mint on my order of them from there but I will be selling all of them.

I just noticed that this coin is now showing as awaiting stock instead of sold out on the mint website. Same thing happened to the 2011 maple leaf forever coin. Interesting.

Over at Redflags, there are reports of paint coming off from the Two Loons coins. I ordered 2 from the Mint and I'm wondering if I should buy one from Canada Post if I do find one, just to be safe. Even if there are no defects from the time of purchase, will the paint possibly peel or come off many years from now? Has anybody experienced paint peeling or have discoloration?

@ sixofclubs, about the 2011 maple leaf forever... I received an email last week from the Mint about that coin. Royal Canadian MintLAST CHANCE ALERT Orders must be in before July 21! As of July 21, the 2011 Maple Leaf Forever - Fine Silver $10 Coin will no longer be available from the Mint. Priced at just $34.95, this is one of our most affordable silver coins. Avoid disappointment -- place your order today!

I see one at the CP today, want to get it but looks closely, there is a little paint missing. I tell the clerk about the problem, she said never heart it before and put it back to sale.
Unlucky to someone buys that coin.
If you were me? you just walk away or let the sale person knows that coin error?

No problem to tell her but I wouldn't seriously expect her to do anything about it. a) Unless she's a collector she won't understand the significance of what you're saying, and b) it's her job to sell the coin so unless it's a really obvious problem like a cracked case or something she's not going to worry about it. Caveat emptor.

With so many complaint about the "Paint issue" on this coin, I really doubt if there is a QC position at Mint. If they did, and the coins are perfect before ship, then the paint color just peel off after a short period of time?

Thanks for the heads up on the paint, I'll have to keep an eye out for loose paint. This issue could turn out to be a good thing, ie. for a lower mintage.
