Picked this up for $13. Did I waste my money?
Numismedia values a G4 1957 at $23. Does this coin even get a grade?

It was an impulse buy. Coin caught my eye in a %50 off bin and I said why not.

I'd grade it FR-2. It's got just under $5 worth of silver in it. Historic value...priceless.

Some people would pay a premium for a really low grade coin, for a low ball set.

If you like the coin and enjoy the fact that you have saved a piece of history from a fiery death then it is $13 well spent IMHO

That coin would not be worth $13 to most people. For $5-$6 it would be a good buy.

It's not a lot of money either way though.

I would grade it PO-1. This quarter has a lot of stories to tell if it could only talk.

It looks to have a little to much detail for a PO-01 to me (looks at least FR-02). If you could get it in a PO-01 slab then you may be able to sell it for more then you paid but it would be risky as I don't think it would come back in a PO-01 slab and if it doesn't you added to the cost of the coin that you would probably never recoup
