I'm new to commemorative coins and I'm finding their history to be very fascinating. I was just curious as to which coins were dumped into circulation in bulk (or if all were at some point). I've read that the Columbian Exposition halves were dumped after the exposition committee gave them to bank as collateral. I've also read that the Stonewall Jackson halves were dumped by banks at face value when they couldn't sell them. Are there any other examples of this?

In addition to the Columbian Exposition and (I'm thinking) Stone Mountain half-dollars you mentioned, some number of each of the following were also put into circulation at face value:

- 1923 Monroe Doctrine
- 1924 Huguenot-Walloon
- Booker T. Washington (primarily 1946-dated coins)
- Carver-Washington (majority are thought to be 1951-P, 1952-P, 1953-S and 1954-S)

Hope that answers your question!
