Not really into Note's so will not attempt to grade or value but have purchased a few 1930's/40's myself lately, they are cheaper the last year or so than 10 years ago,not sure why the drop in demand as Coins are going OK.

The seller had this listed as VF but the chunk missing from the top of the note and the stains make F (Maybe)

I would say aF. There is quite a few creases/folds and a big stain.

It still looks quite bright. A nice old note which I would love to own.

I agree with Enworb, it'd be aF...if it weren't for the mishandled...poor note. Maybe go VG in book value, around $40-$60...I hope you didn't pay more than that...but then again, you only brought it because of the A69 prefix.

I think this note wold grade "Very Fine" if it wasn't for the damage, which would bring it back to F or aF.

Quote:
Very Fine - Paper still reasonably cisp, numerous light folds or even one or two heavy folds.

That seems to describe the above note. Its just a shame about the staining and peice missing.

Without the stains and peice missing, the note would grade about Very Fine.
In the current condition, the note would grade about Fine or Fine.

Good things, the note appears to be original, full bodied and paper reasonably firm and crisp. Too bad for the stains, etc.
