I wish they would. I think I am right on this one. But, what I see with my loupe and what I can get a pic of is two different things. Having the mirror background really messes with my lighting. It throws it off, but I took pics of all angles and diffused the lighting the best I could.

Is the "O" on a IKE supposed to be uniform? If it supposed to be asymmetrical I would say you have a winner...I definitely see thickness in the "O"....I don't have any IKES to compare it to.

The main thing I am going by is the notches, all devices have notches, and extra thickness.

Quote: Thank you John1, do you know of someone who is a pro on IKE's? We have several and they frequent this thread... Post An Ike ( Eisenhower dollar) If they do not happen to see this topic in the next day or two, then feel free to post a note in that thread linking to this one. However, I am sure cc99999, ilikeikes, or stewart will see this before then.

wrongalot, In the "In God We Trust" section it looks like there are rather nice splits in the serifs. Picture 4. The splits in the corners of the "N" Picture 5. The upper left serif of the "D" Picture 6. Upper left serifs of both top legs of the "W" and the upper left serif of the "E" along with the bottom right corner of both the top and middle horizontal legs of the "E" Also nice serif split on the bottom of the right side of the cross bar on the "T" definitely looks like a DDO from the pictures with the splits in the serifs being the determining factor. As far as what DDO it is or a listing number I have no idea, If you are interested in trying to track that down you may try this site http://www.ikedollardoubledie.com/they may have it listed there. Good job with the photographs It is quite difficult to get just the right angle sometimes to bring out what your trying to show in close up with such a shiny surface. I hope this helps Terry

wrongalot I am in no way an expert in photographing coins But I would suggest that you take the coin out of the 2x2 so that there is no Mylar between the camera and the coin

Appears to have two light sources. One light source will tell what you have batter. With two light sources it makes it appear as notching on corners. I'm not convinced this is hub doubling from images provided.

Maybe this one will help. I can see the extra thickness and still see notching.
