Here are a couple of my favourite British banknotes in my collection, maybe not the rarest or most valuable but I think they are interesting notes. I remember seeing these in circulation when I was a child. Historic treasury note (I must get a Bradbury signature one of these...) B series £5 I love that lion design. Let me see your favourite notes!

Nice notes - Early on in my collecting days I considered putting together a set of notes with that depicted St George and the Dragon... Just a cool scene on so many notes (and coins) but when I saw that there were countless images of this scene, I decided otherwise. It might be a cool thing to put my favorite ones together though.

Well its hard to know exactly what to give preference too, unless you are Bill Gates it is simply not posssible to collect everything.
I am hoping to see some other peoples favourites... maybe it will inspire me to go and buy something :)

Fav's eh? that's hard for me to do. I have so many of them. I started out, but here's a few of them anyway... I'd need much more space, as my tastes are quite diverse.

I think France has had some lovely notes over the years. I have a set from before they turned Euro (Large colourful notes depicting famous people) but none older than that. Maybe I should add a few of their older ones to my collection.
Thanks for sharing your favourites :)

I am very fond of St George in his various manifestations.

There were enough to put me off that line of collecting at the time. Back then I wanted to collect them all of course..ha. But as with collecting any theme, birds, lions, ships, etc you can pick and choose - I've slowly learned that ... Well still learning that if I'm honest!
Many, many European notes have had St. George and the Dragon on them. The UK and Russia come especially to mind. He was actually on the Russian arms as well, albeit quite tiny in one of the shields of the eagle. The oddest one I have is a 5000 ruble note where the dragon is more of a large snake instead of a fierce looking monster that is usually pictured.

@ DavidUK There are two versions of the series B £5. On yours, the "£5" in the bottom corners is solid. There are a few later ones that have the symbol in outline. Here is a £21 note. (Yes - twenty one pounds ). They are Lewes pounds, which can be spent only in the town of Lewes, East Sussex, England. They are a kind of local voucher issued at a rate of 1 per sterling £1, and are intended to stimulate the local economy. Does anyone else have any odd denominations?

I was aware there were two different versions of the B series but my memory had faded exactly what the difference was, so thanks for the reminder.
That Lewes pound is certainly interesting, I didn't know there was such a scheme.
