Well here goes, and I'm not sure I'm even in the right forum. Dumb newbie!
Anyway I picked up several Morgan dollars at an estate sale and found several interesting things on this 1889 Morgan. I have hunted for vams and found a couple but at this point I am cross eyed and totally confused. Sooo I thought I would leave it to some of you pros to figure out what I have, if anything. They say a little knowledge is dangerous but... 'I think' on this coin there is doubling 'In God We Trust". 'I think' the wreaths are machine/mechanical doubling but not sure. Above the 'CA' in America, (which also looks like doubling), looks like it could be a die break? It appears that several of the letters are doubled in 'America' and looks like doubling on one of the stars to the right of 'America'. Not sure if its a normal date or far. I count 4 denticles to the 1. Which according to 'Attribution 101' puts the date in the far range. Is that correct?
I've dabbled in coins for about 40 years, nothing in particular, just picking up a few odds and ends here and there. Certainly no pro. Hope someone here can help me out. Thank you all in advance.
PS hope I can find this post once I post it.

First thing to CCF

Next, I would have to agree with you that it is a far date variety. Beyond that I think this may be Machine Doubling but I am no pro either.

Thanks for your welcome.
Glad I at least hope I got the far date correct. I am just not sure of the 'In God We Trust'. It sure looks like doubling but what do I know. Maybe I'll get some more hits soon. Thanks again for your input. Appreciate it.
