Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on when to leave feedback. Their policies are based on their situation. Powersellers who get rebates from ebay suffer the most from negative feedback.
I'm an occasional seller who will never achieve PS status or get a rebate from ebay. For this reason I offer free shipping, ship the same day/next day and properly protect the coin shipped in a hard sleeve inside a bubble mailer, doubled-sealed at the flap. I buy my own delivery confirmation and insure the package if the item's value warrants it. Once the item is paid I leave the buyer positive feedback, thank them for their purchase and tell them precisely when it was mailed with the Delivery Confirmation number so they can track it.
That's how I roll and so far folks seem to appreciate it.
