I laugh at the Titles/Names at a certain auction site for everything including coins. Included in tonight's coin auction listings: Quote: Two Flying-Eagle Quarters was two Standing Liberty quarters and they were showing the reverse as the main image Quote: 1904 Crown of Stars Coin was a 1904 Liberty Head V nickelQuote: Walking Liberty Silver Dollar 1993 32g was a 1993 ASEQuote: Collectible Liberty One Dollar Copper Penny Coins was 2 SBA and 3 copper cents. FYI - a SBA has "Liberty" above the portrait Quote: Liberty Dollar - 1 oz. Fine Silver was a 2000 ASE

sometimes, those poorly-chosen titles can yield a real bargain for a thorough buyer ... because nobody else finds them, and no-one else bids.

Sometimes the ignorance of others can pay off big time! Peter THOMAS said just about the same yesterday...great minds think alike! I get typos all of the time; my fingers get ahead of my thinking I reckon.

I saw one that said"7 Nickels" When I looked The description said "2 Buffalos,2 Jeffersons and 3 with stars around a woman". Those three were 1885,1886 and 1888 Liberty nickels and it sold for $80. BV is around $750. I wasn't logged in and didn't have time to bid.

They just copy what they see: The auction title is: Quote: 1979-S Type-I Nickel Proof " type I" is written on the 2x2, the description has it correct as " type 1'

Quote: Walking Liberty 20 Dollar Coin Copy It does say "copy" on the reverse, that part is correct. The copy is not a Walking Liberty half or an ASE, its a copy of a Saint Gaudens $20 Gold coin.

My personal favorite is this one regarding a silver 5 Francs from the 1800s: "Check it out - nice con". And it did look like a replica IMO. Seriously though, I've gotten quite a few world coins for cheap because of misspellings. Gibralter, Austrailia, and Chili come to mind... Then there's also the people that have no idea even what country their coin is from, much less its value.

Quote: Silver Gold-Painted 1880 E Pluribus Unum Coin In the description, they kept referring to it as an E Pluribus Unum coin. If they don't know what a Morgan dollar is, they need to get a reference book or something.

Quote: sometimes, those poorly-chosen titles can yield a real bargain for a thorough buyer ... because nobody else finds them, and no-one else bids. A friend was looking for something else and ran across a FIRL KING pitcher she bought for about 25% of its worth. If you're not familiar, it looked like an L, but it's FIRE KING.
