Hello everyone, would you say this is an error? If so, what kind of error and is it rare? Thanks! This is the best picture I could get of it.

The pic is a bit blurry, but could it possibly be a Repunched Mint Mark, John1 ? Just curious for my own knowledge.Or is it the dreaded zinc bubble?

Even if it were a repunched mintmark the effect of the Die Deterioration would render the coin non-collectible as a repunched mintmark. Those who collect them want a good example of the doubling on the mintmark, not a coin that is otherwise troubled. If this were the best, scarcest repunched mintmark for the year I would not pay a premium to acquire it for that reason. These are the things that should be considered when offering advice about coins - is it worth messing with? Do you REALLY want to collect a bent parking lot coin just because it happens to be a doubled die? Not very many people would. Those who collect doubling want to collect it for the doubling, and want to see the doubling not damaged or inhibited by other problematic issues on the coin.

to CCF Jwelch. You should start your own topic and not hijack someone else's. Your coin suffers from zinc rot,not an error. Sorry. John1
