Poll Question
Last night I had what I'd call perhaps a bad dream...or maybe even a nightmare.

It was me in my office downstairs at work & I was sorting out the notes for Enworb & Appleangel07 (which we purchased together as a team from IAG). The beautiful pristine notes were sitting my desk & I was in rush all of a sudden for some reason, I put the notes with their cardboard in my (man)bag thinking they would be protected...
.
..
...
....
.....
Until I opened the bag & pulled out the notes & they had been creased in half to my horror......which would have lost 2/3's of their value...I could have cried...
lucky it was just a dream!

The scary realism of collecting banknotes! (unless you're going for circulated notes)

I guess the poll question is "Have you dreamt of coins/banknotes?"

Poll Choices
 Had a bad dream/nightmare
Dreamt of finding a rare one (mule etc)
 Just dreamt of my collection
Dreamt of picking up a bargain
Never dreamt of any of the above
 Or just a different answer

Admit it, we have it bad.
Who hasn't dreamt of finding treasure, who hasn't noodled through the scratch bins or dealers stock books?
Dreams do come true though. Look how many have found wavy based 50 cents or the dollar mules and posted/boasted on CCF.
After thousands of hours wasted on/spent enjoying my coin collecting addiction I have my own success stories but maybe someday I find the ultimate (a 1930 London Obv penny in EF is my white whale).

My dreams usually involve me finding some super rare gold coin and then waking up and being sad.

I don't tend to remember any of my dreams unless I am stressed then they all tend to be work related.
I try do detach myself form my coins actual value and only recently have I actually started recording purchase prices with any degree of regularity. The collecting itself supplies all the enjoyment I need and worrying about damaging a coin or it loosing value is a worry I can do without. I suspect if I ever finsh my goal of at least one of each variety I will loose interest in the collection itself and move to another goal. Since I have set myself an almost impossible task I can't see it happening.

I had a "coin related nightmare" last night.
It all started off very well. My sister found a 2000 $1/10c mule in her change .

Upon closer observation I noted that it was not that well centred, but still a very good coin.

Being a helpful brother I offered to "clean it up" for her using some very good beer swill

Upon dumping the coin into the swill, it started to turn black and bubbles were seen to be generated from the surface of the coin

I woke up in a cold sweat ....
