Ran across this large cent and really like it. Has a tiny bit of corrosion, but otherwise looks nice. I've bought from this seller before and they are trustworthy. How high would you go on it? Was really appealing last night at $70, less so at $98.

The coin has environmental damage. Both sides are pitted. The head of 40 is the most common of all 1839 types so you might be able to find a damage free coin for close to that same price.

OK, thanks. For some reason, I have the 38 head, the silly and the booby, but not this one.
Rest in Peace

Way less appealing now that it's up to $148. It's a frenzy.

Yeah, that one's been dug & cleaned, I think. Way over market, even though the technical details are nice.

I agree the micro-pitting on the coin is an indication of having been in ground.

Closed at $177. Would have never spent that.
