With the glut of reality-based shows leveraging their way into out viewing habits these days (Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, Baggage Wars, Cajun Pawn Stars, Hard Core Pawn, ad nauseum), wouldn't it be great to add one more -> "Coin Stars".... I think there is potential for it to fly given the state of the economy, right location, and interesting cast of kooks. Anyone know of a really active Coin Shop? Thoughts? Paleoguy

I would say although we want to promote the hobby to a certain extent and "Get the Kids Hooked" in the ANA Show in Philly, I think as scarce as silver is at the moment through coin roll hunting, if more people were to be enlightened to this hobby I'm not so sure it would be a great idea. I know whenever I watch these shows I long to go to a storage auction, but they are tough to come by especially in the East. However, a hobby so cheap and "available" as numismatics could spark a large influx of people looking to start this hobby, silver hunt, etc. I don't know if I'm coming off rude but let's keep it esoteric :)

I agree with coinkid. I've been a coupon shopper for a long time (almost 20 years). In light of the new Extreme Couponing series in 2009, couponing has changed tremendously. I've given up couponing completely as the sales have gone away, good coupons are scarce, and many stores have changed their coupon policies. I see "Coin Stars" totally changing the number of rare coins circulating. More people hunting means less finds for everyone.

Good idea but probably not that interesting. No one would want to be on it pawn stars style for fear of being robbed and any dealer big enough probably does mostly online sales so itd just be them shipping orders lol
