I think this is a German note dated 1922 but can find no information on it.
I wonder if anyone can help.

It looks like German Notgeld. You might do an internet search for those.

I think you're right. But I still can't find a picture of this one. I have emailed a collector who has a large collection of them asking if he can give me any information.
I will update if I find out anymore.

It was issued by the city of Hamburg during the "small inflation" of 1922.

There are thousands of different Notgeld. Bamberg is a city in Bavaria so try searching for Bavarian Notgeld 1000 Marks Oct 1922.

Just heard from a Notgeld collector and he says it is a grossgeld from Bamburg.
