Does anyone recognize the coin depicted in this high resolution scan? I've tried doing my own research on this, but am a complete coin collecting novice that happened to find this. It looks kind of like photos I've seen of Denarius? Any assistance is massively appreciated.

I think I've seen this coin before but I can't tell for sure. Could you post a picture of the back.

Looks more ancient greek to me, metal weight and diammeter would be good. The other side and any inscriptions would also help out.

sorry that took a few days, the coin belongs to a friend of mine. There's the scan of the other side. Have you ever seen a coin like this with the same engraving on both sides? What looks like Roman numerals or possibly Greek characters has been obscured by time or erosion or something...

Thats not the reverse side! Thats the same side, it has identical blemishes. Very obvious. Either you have made a mistake or you are trying to fool someone.

It looks like a copy from the corroded base metal seen through the holes in the plating and on the edge. The original coins were solid bronze, silver or gold and not plated.
