I have a 1853 quarter I need grading on. The coin has an obverse scrape that is pretty relevant. Also what would my value be? Thank you

Quite deep, isn't it? Not deep enough to be real disaster though.

Perhaps may loose 20% to 40% of value, relative to grade. The extent of loss ultimately would depend on how much off that an intended buyer would be able to negotiate.

I agree with VF 35. And in my opinion the scratch isn't to distracting.

It does look VF+. Still a pretty good example worth about $25 retail.

That's what I was thinking also dsfree, even at VF25 graded, 1853 Seated quarters went for atleast $50

Your coin is damaged. If it was graded problem-free VF30 by a top TPG service, it would bring $50 easily - probably closer to $100.

As is, $25 is close to fair market value.

You bet Large. We often over-estimate the value of coins we own and are disappointed when trying to sell.

I wasn't trying to be a Negative Nannie, just realistic. : )
