Quite deep, isn't it? Not deep enough to be real disaster though.
Perhaps may loose 20% to 40% of value, relative to grade. The extent of loss ultimately would depend on how much off that an intended buyer would be able to negotiate.

I agree with VF 35. And in my opinion the scratch isn't to distracting.

It does look VF+. Still a pretty good example worth about $25 retail.

That's what I was thinking also dsfree, even at VF25 graded, 1853 Seated quarters went for atleast $50

Your coin is damaged. If it was graded problem-free VF30 by a top TPG service, it would bring $50 easily - probably closer to $100. As is, $25 is close to fair market value.

You bet Large. We often over-estimate the value of coins we own and are disappointed when trying to sell.
I wasn't trying to be a Negative Nannie, just realistic. : )

acetone soak... would clean up nicely IMHO while maintaining toning...enjoy! EF+ $175+
