Just curious as to what days and times everything thinks are the best for when to have an auction end. I've had some success in the past with after noon end times during the week, but seems like anything with a weekend night selling time goes unsold

I do between 10-11 PM EST Mon-Thurs. The reason? The same reason that the most popular tv shows are aired during that time. That's when people are home and relaxing. Weekends aren't good, because people are out doing things. I do 10-11PM EST because that's 7:00PM PST. I feel that's the ideal time frame to end auctions. That's when most in the US are home, and around the house.

I like the reasoning behind that. Have you tried any of the longer listings? I used to only do 1 day ones but tried a few of the 7 and seemed no one bothered to look at it till the last 12 hours or so anyway

I do 3, 5, and 7 day auctions. I occasionally do 1 day if I'm just trying to unload something. While I agree, most auctions don't get attention until the last day, that doesn't mean people don't start watching it three or four days before it ends. If you can wait, I would do 5-7 days. I've noticed more success with that.

5 wont be an option for this lot as I plan to relist tomorrow night along with some new listings I no longer need or have better versions of. I'm tempted to try the one day but I dont want to burn through all the free listings relisting the same things over and over. Maybe the 3 day would be good if I relisted tonight that would end on Wed.

3 day is good !
I hate 7 day auctions....
No one even starts bidding until 3 days or less & when I want to buy a coin;
I only want to wait a day or two to get it, if I wait 7 days I already spent all my coin money.

I've been doing 5 day auctions usually ending on a Wednesday or Thursday 8-10 pm Eastern. Had great success with that, but I'll agree no body pays real close attention to it until the last 6 to 12 hours. So I may go down to 3 day. I HATE THE WAIT! Need that money for more coins!

Lol Penny and Colu. I hate the waiting too. The worst is checking the mail everyday to see if it has come yet. I agree too I think the 7 day is to long and might as well go with the buy it now feature if you are going to do that after my last experience.

Brian great call on the listing time, 1 of my items sold before I could even get them all relisted.

Ended up going with the 3 day listings to end on wed.

I wonder how effective mid day ones would be with how many people ebay from work

Great thread folks; I've contemplated selling a few items from my collection (my car is getting a bit long in the tooth), and I NEVER thought about the end time having any significance!

Jack I didnt either for a while until I would see some sell and some not. Its a shame you cant just select youre own end time so you can list whenever is best for you.

On a side note one of my listings was removed for being a duplicate when I have 2 of the exact same coin. What a joke the system goes after legit listings while allowing all the bs unsearched and fake coins to stay still someone reports them

how many people ebay from work...EVERYONE!
Who does not ebay at work when you have PC sitting in front of you,
just as long as your boss is not standing at your desk and if that happens grab your iPhone and head for restroom!

basebal21, I wouldn't suggest mid day auctions. Actually I would HIGHlY suggest against it. I can promise you that most of them go for way less than they should.
