So I've been grabbing pennies and keeping them lately in a jar. I picked up a Whitman Album. The album arrived today and now I'm second guessing my decision. The Whitman looks really nice and it says it is to store valuable coins. Well the coins I wanted to put in there aren't really valuable (to me they are). Should I keep the album for MS pennies and store my lower grade pennies in 2x2s? Advice, suggestions?

. Put them in the Whitman album. That's what I do.

P.S. If there are a few of the same kind put the nicest one in.

If they are valuable to you then we really can't make the decision for you.

I agree with Upstate. Fill up your album and keep upgrading your coins until you get your desired grade.

Have fun assembling your album. :)

And then let us know when you decide to keep two running albums...

1. Best specimens you can find from circulations
2. Mint State/UNC/Proof coins.

I say, since they are special to you, put them in the Whitman and later on if you feel like upgrading then do if it's ok with you. Or just start another Whitman with high grade coins. If I were in your place, I would hold and preserve my special precious coins the best way possible.

Well, I'm also trying to put together an album of BU Mercury dimes. I have a huge set of them, but in good or very good condition. I've already picked up a couple, just need to get the album. So the MS/Uncirc pennies may have to wait!
