I believe the official weight is 11.5 g so the weight sounds within tolerance to me.

My Red Book says Kennedys 1965-1970 weigh 11.5 grams. Sounds normal to me.

I've been weighing this coin and it comes up 11.1 sometimes and 11.2 others. My scale weighs only to the tenths and I will be getting a scale that weighs to the hundredths. Would it make any difference if the scale weighs at 11.1x as "x" being the unknown that is rounding the scale I am using now up to the ".2". Would this still be a normal weight?

Yes, it's normal and your coin is fine. Scales weighing to 0.01g resolution are cheap these days and worth buying.

I show the 65 - 70 halves with a tolerance of +/- .4 grams So 11.2 is a little low but within tolerance.

The tolerance on the 90% silver half is tighter +/- .259 grams
