I just found this while coin roll hunting. You can barely make out the details. This is the same on both sides. It is indented so there is a lump on the other side and the rims are raised quite a bit.

I see a stem, a leaf on the left, and what looks like a blob that could be a date exactly where the date should be to the left of the stem. No idea what would cause that. You would think if it was damage from circulation the rims would be worn down too.

Interesting find.

Here is a better view of the rims. This is the queen side.

Weird-Coin

If it is acid how would the dent in the coin get there?

I never thought about acid, but it DOES make sense. With careful protection of the rims with vaseline, a carful placement of an acid drop, increased in volume so that it covers all of the design, would be a way to achieve this.

I see that some of the rim beading has also survived.

Could it possibly be a Dryer Coin. You know, a coin that lands in the dryer and gets stuck in the back and spends a year going around and around and around and around and around and around and around...you get the picture.

Looks to me like a '1967' minted coin. That's the year the Leafs won their last Stanley Cup.
Rest in Peace
