In early April I posted a request for some help in locating any VAMs on my Sisters late husbands Morgan dollars on this forum...

Out of 62 Morgans, I submitted 20 of her Morgans to ANACS...

I was a bit disappointed to find that 6 Morgans came back as being cleaned (I thought maybe 1 or 2 at the most), anyway, the time has come where my Sister plans on picking up these coins in about 2 weeks and mentioned that she has no other option and needs to sell them quick and plans on taking them to a local coin shop in Mass. (I live in NY)...

My last request is for anyone with VAM knowledge to advise me on what would be a fair price for the 20 ANACS certified coins pictured below...
{if you have the time to view all 62 coins, maybe you could advise on what a fair price would be for everything - info on other coins below}

I know that 6 of them are labeled as being cleaned, and some posters like to use a bit of sarcasm when they see cleaned coins...
On those coins I'm requesting what a fair price would be, as the 1895s VAM3 (I know the price is going to drop in value, but it is not a worthless coin)...

Thanks in advance, and for anyone that has the time to view all 63 Silver Dollars I've been holding of hers, and give me a general idea of what a fair value would be for all the coins so I could pass this information on to my Sister when she picks them up...

The photobucket album link is below the last 2 coins...

Even though you have indicated that your sister is in a distress situation requiring a quick liquidation, you could join vamworld.com and post the images of attributed VAMs there in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum to put them in front of the right audience. Who knows, you might just be able to maximize some value there. Selling this group en masse to a dealer that doesn't have a market for VAMs would certainly lend itself to a measurable sacrifice for the entire lot.

BC,

I am seeing some sweet coins, IF I were you and YOU have some time, I would be careful of just where you place these coins for sale, I do NOT feel because some of the coins were "cleaned" that will take away from the coins value, some people just do NOT like a cleaned coin, I see past that and appreciate the beauty and rarity of the coins as they are, I know plenty of collectors who also think the same.

I am not in any way ready to offer you any "fair market value" price for these coins, Like suggested you could try the above mentioned site FOR OPINIONS, being the wealth of knowledge residing there . BE Careful where you swim, there are sharks in the waters, there are also many dealers on some of these sites, I am only giving you what you have asked, an opinion, you do have some very sweet coins, in some very nice grades..... Be Well, Mike.... PS, If you have the time, look into some of the auction houses that sell Anacs Slabs, most do not....

be careful. My honest opinion is that she take them to a dealer and let him make an offer. than if possible you can buy them from her for that price.which will give her the money, you the coins and more time to either sell or decide to keep.
Rest in Peace

Most dealers will offer up to about 80% of the retail value of coins. The 20% markup is their fair profit.

Wow, that is an AMAZING collection of Morgans! Cleaned or not! If I had that kind of money I'd buy them all in a heartbeat! And I live in mass so I'm right where you were headed anyways.. If you wanted to sell a few of them to me I'd be more than happy to take the time to sit down with you and go through a price guide... So we both get a fair deal, but I'm assuming you want to sell them as a lot? It's really too bad she needs the money that bad because again this is an amazing collection that many people would love to have. As Silvercoinrn said, get them appraised or an offer from a store and buy them yourself, then you can take more time in selling them and possibly not take the loss that you will most definitely take if sold to a store....I mean I'm new to collecting but I THINK the 1893 O can be worth $425 in poor condition or up to $200,000 in great condition, I'm not sure how the "cleaned" grade will effect the value, but wow... If I had that kind of money I'd sure like to have it, cleaned or not! Stores do not offer enough IMHO... You would be better at a coin auction.. Good luck man! That sure is some collection!
