Does anyone collect these? Seems like if you used them as an investment, you'd need a lot of storage space.

If you saw my huge box of miscellaneous computer cables which I'll likely never use again, you'd think I was hoarding copper.

I have said it before: 'Collect copper wire; it's pure. Most people accumulate some it anyway, before throwing it out. As a kid, I used to scavenge rubbish dumps for scrap metal. Scrap copper was a good money spinner for me.

Most waste authorities won't let kids anywhere rubbish dumps these days; the do gooders have stopped that. Still, a bit of opportunistic roadside shopping can yeild some good scrap metal occasionally, and it can still be had for free. All you need is a scrap metal merchant to sell it to.

Never go for ferro metals, except stainless steel. Not worth the effort.
