I have a 1875CC NCG AU58 $20 Double Eagle Gold Coin and was wondering how much it is worth?

Assuming it's a worthy AU58, you're looking at about a $5k coin. An NGC AU58 went for $5175 at Heritage last month.

Pictures would help us judge the value. Assuming that it has been accurately graded an AU-58, $5000 sounds like an reasonable estimate.

Interesting. Must be one of those unusual cases in which auction value exceeds the RedBook. RedBook shows $2600 in AU-55 and $3950 in MS-60

Quote: Pictures are essential for the forum to give you any assistance Especially so if it is in a "NCG" slab as in the OP versus NGC. Hopefully it was just a typo but if not you never know what's in that slab.

RedBook either overprices a coin or underprices it. Not reliable and you know that johnny :P

I never even noticed that; my brain automatically parsed it as "NGC." But there is a third-world slabber known as "NCG." If by some chance it actually is an NCG slab,I won't even believe it's a gold coin, much less AU58.

Quote: you have a rare coin like that and don't know the price? If the coin was inherited or found by a person who doesn't collect coins then he/she probably wouldn't know the value unless the coin(s) was labeled with the purchase price paid by the original owner. It's very common for people to acquire coins, rare or common, and have no idea as to their worth. Ed ANA LM-3175
