Hi everyone! I have been hunting nickels today.. I'm having a little trouble deciding what to keep and to put back into rolls. I Have Questions About The Non Magnetic 2006 Nickel. What metal is it made of? Is it worth anything? On average Out of 100, 2006 nickels, 5-10 would be NON Magnetic. I have about 25. The low 7's Are they worth keeping? finds so far in 3 boxes... -(2) 1940, (2) 1941, (3) 1942,1944,1945,1950,1952,1956 US Nickels. -1929 Canadian Nickel -(2) 1962 "Double Left Leaf Variety* -(2) 2000-P Canadian Nickels -(3) 1970 Canadian Nickels. -1952,1956,1958 Canadian nickels & Many 60s ( I'm ONLY KEEPING 12 SIDED) but also checking 1965's for errors. :) Wish me luck! :) Thanks for reading

I always look for 1970 and 2000P, and occasionally 2006 no logo (CuNi). Anything AU or BU from pre-1960s is a good bet, IMO. 1938 is awesome when you find one in circulation. I'm no pro, so others chime in, please. This is just what I look for. And since you asked, Good Luck!

Along with the 1970 & 2000p, I also pull out 1991, purely because it's also low mintage compared to everything going back to the 1970.

I save all 1969 and earlier except 1964, plus all 2009.

jrokshady: Note which forum you are in. We are talking about Canadian coins, not American ones.

Cant help with the '06, but very curious you didn't specify a mintmark on your '44 U.S. nickel. Should be above the dome. If not, chances are you may have what's been driving me crazy for years- a Henning. Your '42, '44 '45 are 35% silver, unless the '42 is a Ty.1 You have some potential varieties in that group, you may want to check out CONECA website. Overall a great box. Side note, two weeks ago I returned a searched box of $100, having nearly $3 returned to me "uncountable" The counters pull the magnetic Cans. It was a straight loss Being in Idaho, it's unavoidable.

Libertad: "General Numismatic Discussion Forums (Non Country Specific)" or "Roll Hunting" does not mean Canada.

jrokshady: Yes, but this particular thread deals with Canadian coins not American.

I keep all the 1981 and earlier since they are 100% nickel. I don't seem to find many out my way. They are all newer. I also keep all of the 2000p I come across as well.

Why would one want to keep 2006 no logo? Charlton says 43 008 000 minted. Am I missing something?

I've been keeping 1970 and earlier. Just got a 1937 one. But I'm pretty new at this, I look forward to more comments.
