I just had a quick couple of questions. Is it normal for the mint mark to be in this position on the coin? Others I have looked at have the mint mark between the 9 and 8, not the 8 and 9. Also, is the mark in front of his mouth from a die chip or damage? Here is a pic. Thank you!

The MM can be anywhere underneath the date because the MM was hand punched on each die through 1989. In 1990 they stopped doing it by hand on each die. The mark by the mouth looks like a gas bubble.
