Thanks for the feedback. What do you think is up with the planchet for the 1952? Is that something from when it was minted or from being circulated?

It looks to me from the photo that the planchet had some lamination issue and has spent some time in circulation. I'm not big on errors but I like both the walking liberty and Franklin coins. My franklin's were mostly pulled from circulation when I was young and the Walkers have been in the process of up grading from coins similar to ones you have shown.

Thanks for the information. I'll try to do a bit more research on that coin, never had anything like that before. These are my first walkers and franklins. I traded for them for a GPS and motorcycle helmet I got for free from my dad so I don't think I did too bad since both of those items will only depreciate in value anyway lol.
I really like the WLH and wanted to start my collection. I just love the design and the patina from circulation that they get. I want to aim for VF-AU grade for them more for that reason than for prices, but I will probably one day work on a MS set too, but I don't see me ever getting rid of any that I acquire lol.

Beautiful coins, thanks for sharing.
What would you grade those? I was thinking: 1936 MS 1938 XF 1939 AU 1960 PF

Your assessment is as mine as to the general grade. Then there are different degrees of the grades, for instance the 1938 d is in my opinion XF 40, and the Franklin is graded as cameo proof 67.

Yea, I was doing this from a tablet so I couldn't get a good enough look to determine a number grade. Just got another Franklin half in the mail, 1958D. Bought it for about spot +$1, not sure if that is good or not. Just felt like throwing it in with my order (I was getting a 2011 Australian koala that I've had my eye on). I'll try to get a photo up soon but I would say it's probably a F12.

I've always had a thing for a 1958 coin, its my birth year. The last coin I purchased was a PCGS 1958 pr 66 cam half.

That's pretty cool. I don't have anything really cool from my birth year (1988) aside from a bullion ASE I picked up at a coin show. It has some spotting to it but not too bad. Been thinking of picking up the proof set for that year just to have but don't really think of my birth year as being very interesting lol

1988 has only a clad proof set, I decided long ago to not collect clad coins and focus on silver. Some US coins that you my be interested in for your birth date: 1988 Seoul Olympiad commemorative dollar This one may be out of your league but I like her, $5 commemorative gold from the same event.

Those are pretty cool. I'm not really into the commemoratives yet trying to focus on WLH, Franklins, and Kennedys first lol
