I decided to start a new picture thread because the other was getting rather long and was more correlated to my bar collection. With this last drop in Silver into the upper $26 range I pulled the trigger on the first eagles I have been able to buy for under $30. I would love to continue to add awesome old bars but with the premium on them being SO high I decided I needed to add some CHEAP silver. I managed to acquire $100 face worth of mostly Walker halves for $1780 cash locally from one of my regulars. 60 Silver Eagles from gold mart for $29.15 per 20 Cougars to finish a roll from Gold Mart for $31.28 per 4 more 5 oz Sunshine mint bars from my gold and silver guy for $520 best deal yet. With my new safe being moved to an underground secure location as we speak my secured real-estate has more then quadrupled which makes me more happy then these eagles. I have been so limited by space concerns that it is gonna be awesome once I get everything moved tonight. Edited by throwbackid 07/18/2012 12:30 pm

Wait. What? I am interested in that. How did you do it? How much can/will you share?

"Wait. What? I am interested in that. How did you do it? How much can/will you share?" Ok, now that is a tricky question. Though I am open and obviously don't mind posting pictures of my buys or the total number of ounces I currently have in inventory. The details of my hoards location is something I should keep close to the vest. What I can tell you is it could withstand a nuclear bomb blast and that it will be underground. With my the acquisition of new/old vault the location has become 10 fold more secure. I am having some modifications done to the room as we speak and then it will be off to the races. Am I the only one that loves stacking this stuff

I'm calling it now! TBK went and bought himself an abandoned missile silo. Nice additions to the silver stack, TBK!

Nice haul!!
I think we need to have some safe talk TBK, just finished mine in my new house hence the lack of huge purchases lately. I'd post some pictures but well then everyone will know about my safe. But to sum it up. It was put in after my basement was poured, our house plans worked around the safe, roughly 15x15x10 high and a lovely sight to see

Interesting topic! Depending upon storage needs, a safe installed inside a fortified "panic room" might be a good option for either new construction or even a major remodel. Down here, most people would think of such a room as an in-home tornado shelter. And you could include whatever infrastructure you'd need for a storage safe in the construction plans without actually saying anything about a safe. A tornado shelter on a set of plans wouldn't draw anyone's unwanted attention.

Definitely not a missile silo but was designed to withstand an indirect hit, and "that's all I got to say about that" Forrest Gump. To be honest before the safes acquisition I never considered where it currently sits to be a viable location for my treasures. Plus with my children getting to that age where they insist on getting into everything, I felt compelled to move my arsenal out of my residence. The weapons have always been put away and locked up but with my oldest turning 7 the whole thought of guns in the house turns my stomach. I will probably still keep my Morgan and other sets at the house as I like to look at them and admire the craftsmanship but all my bulk bullion is making the long trip to their new home tonight via armored car, JK.
Swrbxx,
Shoot me a PM anytime and i'll give you my phone number. I chat via text with a couple people on here. The wealth of information here is priceless

Very nice haul, TBK. The bars seem to be especially well priced. Good job! Congrats also on the upgraded storage for your treasures. Increased security is always a plus for any PM collector. Don't need any details but a pic of the finished installation would be real nice. This is not idle curiosity. My wife and I plan to move sometime in the next year or so and will be looking at various homes in the country. A better PM security arrangement will be good to have or add there, so will be considering a lot of options.

Sweet, going under ground one day may save mankind, lol....
That stash should be snug as a bug in a rug down there in that missile proof bomb shelter....
Even today the most technically advanced air forces of the world struggle to penetrate well built bunkers, as it is nearly and impossible task....
It may take something like what is mentioned in this copy and paste, via the Israeli/US arsenal to penetrate that secure location....
"Two Israeli air force squadrons are training to blow up an Iranian facility using low-yield nuclear "bunker-busters", according to several Israeli military sources. As a nuclear veteran (Operation Redwing, Bikini, 1956) I can affirm that this is absolute madness. The "bunker buster" is a cute sounding name for a nuclear horror. Air bursts are horrible enough, doing incredible destruction through heat, shock and high initial radiation. The fallout from an air burst is registered around the world. A surface or subsurface burst is even deadlier and more long lasting."
