I found a real messy 1984D nickel....is this caused by a worn die? MD? Real doubling?

I think what you have here is a very deteriorated die...Nickel is a very hard metal and it is very hard on the dies...I had posted a nickel awhile back that looked similar and this was the explaination that I got. So thats my $.02

Nice Pics BTW

It looks like both, worn die and MD.

the pictures of your coins are really sharp and crisp.....what do you use to take the pictures.....I tried to send you a private e-mail asking this question but since I'm a new member, it won't let me....sorry to put this on the forum....but I'm curious because I've got some coins I'd like to get an opinion on, but don't have a scanner or good enough camera to do so

Thanks Plat
