Coins, at this stage of my life. As a younger man, I was buying beer, then collecting the empty bottles. I also collected speeding tickets on my motorcycle, and notches on my bedpost...

Well, so far I am the only one who voted for paper money. I do love coins though. (Just not as much as banknotes )

I just haven't been able to get into bank notes. I see some that I like every once in a while and I get them. The Zimbabwe hyperinflation currency for example. But other than that, coins is where it is at for me.

I voted for coins too however if I was to stop collecting altogether and could only keep one collection it would be the notes. I primarily collect coins - just looking at my records I have 1,365 coins vs. 235 notes.

Constant variety of coins to collect whereas my next note additions would be in the 1935 series which are getting up there in cost.

I voted banknotes, I may have more coins than banknotes and buy coins more often but I am prepared to spend more on a banknote than a coin and my notes are worth considerably more than my coins (gold ones aside but I treat gold as a third catagory)

Both are cool but a very old piece of paper that looks like it was printed yesterday is always impressive to me.
