I was wondering if CCF has an app. I'm of the generation where I'm only at a computer during work hours but my phone is literally attached to me at all times. And, I was thinking that it would be really neat to be able to access CCF on my phone and read/respond to conversation from there.
If there isn't is that something that's in the works or has been talked about?

I just use CCF with my browser. It works very well on my Android.
Welcome to CCF It's a lot of fun! It's the full meal deal.

If you have a smart phone the website is actually pretty fast on the phones. But I do agree an App would be cool or faster anyway.
And Welcome

Why would one want to write code for something a browser can already do? And we deliberately want everything you can get from CCF to be in the forum for all to enjoy - we're not going to create "exclusive" content limited to one specific access technology.

Dave I apprechiate how much you guys want to keep all content open and accessible to all members. I was in no way whatsoever suggesting that you make any part of the app "exclusive". I was mearly asking if there was a way to access CCF that was formatted more Mobil friendly. I really have a lot of respect for what you guys have done in 6 years to build this forum. And, I really wish that everyone in the coin community was more willing to help others learn. It would really help further the hobby. The browser is not as difficult now that I've done it. I'm actually replying on my phone now because your post really upset me and I left my laptop at the store. But, it would be neat to have an app that formatted the text and ads to the size of your screen. I was reading a thread where Susan was talking about getting YNs interested in numismatics. When younger people get interested in something the first thing that they do is see what kind of apps there are on the subject so they can have read about it on their phone or tablet. I'm not crazy, ask the young people on the forum. I think that it would pull in more people and, make it easier for people to chat around the clock if they aren't attached to their laptops.
I hope in no way that offended you. That was not my intention. I simply wanted to use CCF more......

I've learned to navigate the site pretty well on my Android. Great that I can pinch the screen to increase the text size, thanks to my chunky fingers being unable to click on the smaller buttons!

I have had good success viewing this site using both Dolphin HD and Firefox on my Droid RAZR MAXX. I find the stock browser a bit tedious.

The site works in a browser, but would feel much more natural in an app.

CoinChick nailed the actual problem - the place honestly could be more mobile-friendly - but it's the site itself which would have to be rewritten. Until that happened, no "app" would make a difference.

Not necessarily. A layer of services could be built around the database, that then could be consumed by a native phone app (more likely 3). It would be a major undertaking, though, and definitely not cheap. It would probably be easier to build a mobile version of the site, with less functionality when compared with the full version. That would be some work, as well.
