Hi guys/girls & inbetweeners,

Okay, I'm at a point where I'm going to start minimizing my small error/cud/die faults as I'm looking to start selling some.

I know there has been mention of the following before, but I've searched the forum for all sorts of different things & couldn't find it.

Anyway here it is. (in the past I was told it was a re-cut die, but then I found out it wasn't on this forum).

It looks like a blow out if there's such a definition?

50-Cent-Die-Fault?-Error?-Blow-Out?-Re-Cut-Die?

Metal flow, the dies get so warn that the metal flows out the side of the die design is what I believe it is,someone else may know more about the technical side of it than me though,or call it something different.
The majority of 2007 50 cent coins have it.

Broken or worn dies. The corners of the 0 on the die (which remember is incuse) have either broken or worn away and rather than being a nice neat right angle are a now chamfered. The result is what you see on the 0 of that coin. A visual image is that on a new die the incuse 0 is like a sharp edged canal on the Death Star. But when it struck that coin is was more like a gently eroded river valley.

I have been collecting these errors when noodling mainly on the 2007 but also on the 1999. They are reasonably common but a nice error.

Yeah, it's 2007, silly me forgot to mention. Coin hunter, I've also found quite a few in 2008. I'll probably keep the best two examples & sell the rest if they spark someones interest.
