I have a couple of coins that are darkly toned. They are at least uncirculated condition. Does this devalue the price as would a rainbow, or nicely toned coin increase the price? I'm just confirming what I believe...as my knowledge on coins is still developing. The tone is dark and even. I think it's ugly, hence making the coin unattractive to me.. Is this the common thinking in the Coin World ? I think, when silver is exposed to air over a long period of time, the silver oxidizes and forms silver oxide on top of the coin which is black ? So this would mean al silver coins will at some stage do this ?

I just use my scanner and my IPhone, I am getting a couple of fancy lenses that attach to the iPhone and they get great results ( I hope ) Pic's are my favorite part of CCF, I just love drooling all over my desk at some of the outstanding coins our members put up for us to enjoy

You can see some "scratches" in front of the crown and opposite it, but its only on the slab.

Nice coin and a great example of an honestly toned coin. If I could get a 1927 p and h florin like that and in the same condition, I would be indeed a happy man

I like a little toning on silver coins a bit of colour is awesome. For my taste yours is too dark although still a coin I'm yet to own and nice regardless. I'm sure there are people out there who like them like yours.

Most people do not prefer dark toning. This is the reason dealers dip coins. I've spoken to several and they freely admit that bright coins are MUCH easier to sell. Personally I like it and see it as a sign of originality. Nice florin btw, to get a MS65+ grade the lustre must really pop. Don't suppose it's for sale?

Hmmm.. not sure yet. Just wanted the opinions of other collectors. To me, it's kinda ugly, too dark for my taste...
