Greetings from Canada!

I ran into a peculiar looking coin in some change in my pocket, and it definitely was not a Canadian Nickel. Any ideas?

(Keep in mind that I'm not a collector and therefore lack the knowledge that a collector would have of coins. :))

It looks to me like an American Buffalo nickel.

It's a United States nickel, a Buffalo nickel minted between 1913 and 1938. Unfortunately the date is worn off. It's probably worth about 10 to 15 cents.

Thank you for the quick responses guys!

I'm guessing it's the date that makes it more valuable?
Rest in Peace
