I've just found this site and it looks interesting they are producing tokens or coins as they call them as souvenirs. I've looked at the UK tokens and next time I'm going on holiday I'll be checking to see if there are any near where I'm going.

These remind me of the medallions I encountered while visiting France a few years ago. They had machines set up at all of the major tourist attractions - Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre, etc. I picked up all available from each site I visited on each trip I made.

I believe, however, the pieces were all struck by the Paris Mint vs. a private firm. The Mint even had a collector's album available at the time.

They are all nice souvenirs of my trip.
