Just my luck, I was taking advantage of the free listings last week on ebay. For the most part went great. Sold some old stuff got some money and more room in the house.

But then the last 4, yes 4 items I sold all still have not been paid for. Some was baseball stuff some were coins. Two were newer buyers and two were buyers with 100s if not a 1000+ feedbacks. One of them actually seemed to be some new coin store that opened up.

I wish I would have opened the unpaid item cases sooner, but was in a giving mood and decided to give them an extra day or two before I did it. Now theyve all ignored
repeated emails to get in touch and ask if they will be paying or when.

The first case closes tomorrow night and as they close for non payment Ill list their names in this thread for those who want to block buyers that dont pay. Till then just needed to vent a little

I edited the post to include a list of the buyers that will be added when the unpaid case closes so its easier for everyone

List Of Unpaid Buyers
compasacra43 Also has another unpaid case from this month

I stopped doing auction style listings a couple of years ago because of winning bidders not following through on payments and getting away with it. Usually I would ask that they either pay or make payment arrangements within 3 days of the end of the auction but every once in awhile someone would just not reply. Once they took away the ability of sellers to leave negative feedback for bad buyers that was the final straw.

Now I do strictly fixed price listings with immediate Paypal payment required. The little bit extra I pay in ebay fees is well worth it as I don't have to chase down deadbeats or get stuck with having to relist something all over again.

Hopefully your buyers will come through for you...good luck.

I didnt know you could have the immediate payment for the BIN.

The weirdest part is that even though the 4 were auctions, 2 of them did the BIN and then just havent paid. None have responded, I know for sure 2 wont pay without a nice surprise and really only have hopes for 1 of them. One has a 2nd chance offer available so I just hope they still want it and havent found it somewhere else already.

But they really do need to have the ability for negative feedback on unpaid items. I am going to leave feedback regardless saying they didnt pay if I can and hopefully others will read it before selling to them. I also which for the blocked buyers setting you could make it more strict. The lowest it lets you do is 2 unpaid items in 12 months, you should be able to add that none of them could be in the last 30 days. I found out this is the 2nd time this month one of the buyers has done this.

Thanks for the wishes. My first case closes tomorrow. Actually since this is their 2nd time their ebay name is compasacra43. It was a baseball item so dont think it would be a problem for sports but thats their name for whoever wants to block them just in c ASE

My last ebay auction went pretty well except one buyer who took three invoices and TWO WEEKS to pay for the coin. Some people are fat payers, some are slow. I usually pay with hours if not minutes after the auction closes. If I do not have the money to pay for the item when it closes, I don't bid.

Oih you are a much more patient man than I am. By the two week point ill have closed it as an unpaid buyer case lol. I agree dont bid if you cant afford it. I understand some are sniper programs and paying the next day should be expected for those. Maybe even not pay over the weekend out of town, but as soon as a full business day passes it should be paid at the very least.

Unpaid items are irritating, that's for sure. I primarily use BIN, but I still get unpaid items once in a while. I probably average around one per month or so.

All you can do is go through the unpaid item process and then relist. What annoys me most is the fact the item is off the market while you go through the process.

Yeah the pay immediately requirement can be set up when you list the item as a fixed price listing. It has been awhile but I think you check the box for fixed price, check the box for immediate payment required and put in the email address tied to your Paypal account. So far it has worked out great. They winning buyer doesn't win the item until they have paid.

You can also set it up with the option to take offers just like any other BIN listing. The listing stays up for 30 days and then renews automatically. Usually my items sell within a week, but every once in awhile one item will not sell in the 30 days, roll over and then sell right away. It really has taken away alot of headaches associated with chasing deadbeat buyers.

Agreed. I personally think it takes to long. If they havent paid in the 4 days leading up to opening the case they dont need another 4. 1 or 2 days would be enough. If you havent paid in 5 days or even responded to an email that should be enough to end it. The worst is if you miss out on a 2nd chance offer because of it.

I like that approach a lot. I kind of feel that after a full business day passes you should be able to open the unpaid case, and then give then 1 more business day before its closed. None of these guys have responded to an email so I'm basically just waiting for the clock to tick down.

I will definitely use this method for BIN in the future

I once bought a BIN-listed coin but didn't pay for something like 5-6 days because I had no idea how
I ultimately explained that to the seller by email, after which he said I could pay by putting money on his phone (which I did easily). Thankfully it was Molotok - if it had been ebay I likely would've had to take another week or two to set up a Paypal account!
(The coin was my second large cent, by the way, and to this day remains the only coin I've ever successfully bought online.)

January lol. It took me a little bit the first time to figure out how to do paypal without an account but eventually just got one so I could sell too.

If they would just explain it to me like you did with your situation we could work something out. I let one guy pay with a mail order since he didnt have paypal, took some time but I knew the money was coming so I wasnt worried.

On the bright side 1 actually did decide to pay. 1 unpaid item closed and 2 to go

As the final update after sending messages telling buyers I will be ending their sales at the end of the night 3 of the 4 ended up paying. Funny how they ignored my messages for 8 days till I said that.

The one that didnt pay got hit with the unpaid item. Yet still has 100 percent feedback and you cant see that anywhere. ebay should make that public or at the very least leave a negative feedback they didnt pay. But they just want money so they dont want to chase any buyers away

Is it possible that some of these unpaid buyers are competition?
I hate to even suggest that, just wondering if that kind of thing goes on.
