The full title is, United States Pattern, Experimental and Trial Pieces.Seventh edition, 1982, by A. Kossoff....original J. Hewitt Judd, M.D. No idea if newer editions exsist. Great reference to a lot of coins I will never own.

No idea if newer editions exsist. Or, you could just go here: http://uspatterns.com/patcon.htmlThe auction link leads me to a regular 1879-S, though.

Either the link is not working for me or I'm missing something. I'm getting a MS63 1879 s Morgan?

I just re checked the same, ask amida17 it was there..... How else did he, ( amida 17) come up with the judd 1616 design pattern, it was a 1879-0 PR 64 BR Morgan silver dollar Obverse with an eagle on the Reverse I have NOT seen before, The term " mule " was given for the pattern used. I have never seen the coin before and checked the auction site and it's like it was never there!!! Last bid 2 hours before ending was $9400.00!!! I have no clue how the address I posted changed.... Mike PS, SD Thanks for the link....

Yup, it was a copper morgan, with that ugly dude on the obverse, and a funky eagle reverse....
