Just FYI, the 2012 Acadia 5 oz Silver ATB is now available for pre-order over at Provident Metals. Their first shipment of Acadia ATBs is set to arrive on or before Friday August 10th, 2012. Note that this is the bullion version and not the more expensive "collector's" version available from the mint.

Bullion for $30.4 ounce? Today silver is $27.58. I will wait and buy it off someone on ebay for spot price.

Thanks for the heads up barryg! I think that premium is very reasonable and I look forward to picking one up. I really like each of the 2012 designs.

For those who don't check out the Modern Coins forum on a regular basis, I just got my bullion Acadia puck in the mail from Provident: I paid by credit card, so it was a few bucks more than their lowest listed price. Still, even after shipping, it was only $165.55. Compare that to the $204.99 (plus shipping) for the uncirculated version from the Mint...

That'll be another handsome ATB puck for the collection, barryg! Can't wait!

Barryg, you take such great pictures. I really like this one. The ATB designs as a whole put the State Quarters to shame in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.

Quote:The ATB designs as a whole put the State Quarters to shame Couldn't agree more, SDC! The series so far has consistently and beautifully captured what's special about our national parks. I do love the State Quarters, too. However, a few state images on the reverse look like the product of dysfunctional committees who knew surprisingly little about their own state. The ATB series has shown no such disappointments.

My pleasure, and thanks for the kind words. I just wish I could get rid of the reflections totally. Maybe if I take two pictures turned 180 degrees apart and then stitch the image together? Hmmmm....

Barryg, have you tried using a polarizing filter?

Nope, I'm using a cheap digital camera with no lenses.

Thanks. The secret is finding a cheap camera with a macro setting and using LOTS of light.
