Sorry if I'm ranting a little. ebay has been a commonly visited site for me for over a decade, but when it comes to coins I'm often left scratching my head a bit. Coins that have obvious issues often get bid up to insane amounts, while MS coins barely go for over melt.....

Of course no rule is universal, and sometimes the coin goes for what its really worth. Just the nature of the beast I guess.

We are doing some Summer clearance at my store aka dumping it all on ebay...

Before I list items I check the completed listings pages...and I'm always left scratching my head. One day an item will get 10 bids and sell for $36 but a week before that an exact same item received 0 bids for $9.99.

It's all about who's looking at the site during that time period.

Coins really do seem to be an oddity on ebay. It really is a roll of the dice of whose looking for what. I've gotten some great deals and lost out on somethings for way to high of bids.

There really doesn't seem to be a lot of reason to it either. You'll see coins that consistenly sell in the 50 dollar range go for 20 something sometime and other times they'll be a bin where it sold for 100 or more.

Pictures seem to have a decent amount to do with that but other than that I just scratch my head half the time

Same here.
I can list something over and over again, three consecutive times without getting one bid, but then just when I'm thinking that I won't list it again, it sells for double the starting price.
That's why I monitor ebay daily.
