Let's have some fun and test the creativity of the commemorative fans here on CCF! Let's pretend that each of our classic commemorative coins is actually a cartoon panel and we've been assigned with the task of coming up with a caption for each one. (We'll do some modern coins next time!)

Here's a few that I've put captions to:

Something-A-Little-Bit-Different-Tonight...

  • Who's got the beef? I've got the beef!

Something-A-Little-Bit-Different-Tonight...

  • The wheels on the boat go round and round...!

Something-A-Little-Bit-Different-Tonight...

  • Whoa, Moby, whoa!

Something-A-Little-Bit-Different-Tonight...

  • Does this collar make me look fat?

Have something better for any of those? Let's see ‘em!

I can do this and it would be great fun ... but alas to match your entries I would have to edit all of my photos to show only one side of the coin ... way too much work for a way overworked fella.

A few ideas along these lines without any photo-edit effort on my behalf ...

Something-A-Little-Bit-Different-Tonight...

Obverse statement ... I've been at it forever ... any gold in here yet?

Reverse statement ... Where is that next gold panner ... I'm still hungry

Something-A-Little-Bit-Different-Tonight...

Reverse statement ... The wheels on the boat go round and round.

Ooops ... sorry commems ... could not resist the polite reminder that sometimes well circulated examples are the best to have fun with.

Something-A-Little-Bit-Different-Tonight...

Obverse statement ... Chief Big Feathers displays the first American stop sign.

Reverse statement ... Geepers, that sun is really big and hot.

I could go on ... but will leave some entries for others.

David

Will they recognise me without my beard?

Hmmm. I wonder how long it'll take them to realize that they're wrong and they're almost at the end of the world...
