hello....just have a question on those type of pennies.I been finding several real bumby pennies (all Zink).What causes this?
I know those are worthless,but just interested on how they get like that

Yup thats the old platting issue with the zinc Lincolns. Could have been something on the zinc when they put it through the plating process. I have seen a lot of them also..Ugly lil fellas.

Impurities on the zinc blank when it's plated in copper.
